The response to an idea I had while watching this movie, was amazing.
And it worked! We managed to dot ourselves around the world – literally! 17 countries, over 30 classes ranging from PreK to Year 11. Each and every dot made me smile – I hope it makes you smile too.
Many thanks to the teachers who signed up, took part with their iPads and their students and got their dots in!
Happy International Dot Day! (Updated Version 3)
Beautiful Chrissy! Thanks for all your time and effort to bring us together and create such a fabulous video! I’m excited to share with my students on Monday- they’ll be so proud!!
It really was a simple project Nancy – thanks for taking part! Video production took about 3 hours max! Really!
An awwwwwwwwesome video, a great work joining the world with dots! Thank you, Chrissy
Pleasure Agnese – so pleased that we were able to get your dots in time!! Hope your kids enjoy the video!
Thanks Chrissy. For inspiring, promoting, organising, making, publishing and sharing this project.

I have ordered a hard copy of the book for next year- such a great message.
Happy dance.
Thanks Allanah – always a pleasure a globally collaborate with you! This was a fun project to do and what makes it even better is that it was relatively simple for everyone involved – even putting the video together really didn’t take that long – I’ll be writing a blog post about putting it all together later – plus some reflection on ways I could have organised it better! As always, your input is valuable!!
Hello TeachingSagittarian and class,
Your video presentation is stunning.
With International Dot Day aiming to share a creative experience with the world, you have not only added to the colourful dot creations of so many others, you created direct links with other classes scattered around the globe and shared the experience via your video. Breaking down the barriers of distance in order to share creative and learning experiences in such a fashion shows what can be achieved when we turn our creative minds to ways of enhancing opportunities for the children with which we work.
Thank you for sharing.

Thank you Ross for your kinds words and equally inspiring comment. Using technology with students in the classroom and helping them connect with other students around the world has always been a passion of mine. They love making videos with me and they love using the technology in many different ways.
Thanks Chrissy. The video looks great. I love the introduction by the kids and the way the globe tracks and connects all the dots involved. There is amazing creativity shown here by student. Thanks for involving us in the project!
Always a pleasure globally collaborating with you Anne! I hope your Year 11′s get a kick out of seeing their included dots!!

That was the most spectacular video I have seen that incorporated global connections and children’s art/creativity. The art work was so beautiful. We so would have liked to have been part of the project. If you do any others, please think of us @phoenixschool in Salem, Massachusetts. Hats off to Ross Mandell who shared the link.
Thanks Betsye – and yes, keep reading this blog and I’m sure you will come across another project to get involved with over this school year!
Many thanks for this amazing video, Chrissy – and all your “dot connector” friends from around the globe. I loved the art – the “connecting the dots” between cities animation… and the music was awesome. Your video will inspire many – and reminds us all that this planet gets smaller and smaller when we share & connect. It will also inspire others to join in the fun for next year’s International Dot Day – Sept 15th-ish. It will be the 10th anniversary of my book! Keep the creativity flowing! Peter
Thank you Mr Reynolds! Thank you for writing such inspiring books that lend themselves to such important messages for our children today and thank you for being so supportive of everything that people are inspired to do because of your book! Thanks also for telling me that it’s the 10th anniversary of “The Dot” next year – an idea for next year’s project is already forming in my head!!
I Loved IT!!! What a great idea. The students very easy to understand and the music really added a great feel and kept me wanting to watch

I just love the video! It definitely made me smile. What an incredible project! Thanks for being inspired to lead it, and thanks to all the kids around the world who contributed!
Wow! What a great video — and the kids were all so creative. It was great to see so many different versions of dots from around the world. Thank you so much for putting this together. I can’t wait to show my class tomorrow!
